Pamplemousses Botanic Garden
Also known as Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, Pamplemousses Botanic Garden is one of the oldest botanic gardens in the southern hemisphere. Established in 1770, the garden showcases a wide variety of indigenous and exotic plants, including that water lilies bloom spectacularly during certain times of the year.

L'Aventure du Sucre Museum
The informative L'Aventure du Sucre museum is set in an old sugar factory, not far from Pamplemousses Garden. Discover both the history of sugar and Mauritius, and have the opportunity to sample varieties of sugar and local rum. Learn about the flora and fauna of Mauritius, the influence of various ethnic groups on the local cuisine, and the importance of the sugar industry in shaping the landscape and social fabric of the island.

Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice Red Church
One of the most renowned churches in Mauritius Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice, is a red church set against the stunning backdrop of Cap Malheureux, in the very north of the island.

Port Louis
A visit to the North of the island wouldn't be complete without visiting the bustling capital of Port Louis. Port Louis showcases the old and new sides of Mauritius. The modern Caudan waterfront and office buildings collide with the historical central market and busting streets full of vendors. Leisurely stroll through port Louis, and visit the Jummah Mosque, Blue Penny Museum and Aapravasi Ghat (UNESCO heritage site).
